Corylus Architects Ltd is a Sole Practitioner Practice.  It was set up in 2010 by me it’s director Hazel Buckingham.  Primarily I work on house extensions and refurbishments.  I feel it is important for Architects to promote green architecture.  To this end I encourage dialogue around cost versus benefit of renewables and sustainable design. 

I studied at Cardiff University where I became a fully qualified Architect.  I have worked in a number of small Architectural Practices and a larger city based practice where I managed the design and construction of Liverpool’s Phase Three Sure Start Centres. 

I strive for honesty and clarity. My first job is to understand the client’s vision and needs, not to present my own.  I value timeliness, direct communication and prototypes over presentations.
